Carpentry
15+ Years Carpentry Experience
While in high school it was just a hobby, set construction and carpentry became a career path in college. I joined the Kenyon scene shop as a theater technician my first year and had a hand in over two dozen shows over the course of 3 years. For my senior year I was promoted to Assistant Technical Director for the college where I would lead teams in daily construction, load ins, strikes and lighting installs.
In my professional career, I started as a Prop carpenter and have since worked as a Scenic carpenter on and off Broadway
Currently am a Freelance Scenic and Props carpenter throughout Local One's Juristiction
Technical Direction at William Paterson University
William Paterson University, a small state school in Suburban Wayne, NJ, is the home to the New Jersey Playwright's Competition during which twice a year plays and Musicals are debuted for the first time. I had the honor of Technical Directing Alice of Ward 13 by Jonathan Galvez. The show centers in a Mental Ward and in the mind of one of it's patients who has been in a vegetable like state for five years.
The set involved two pivoting walls with a working door on one, curtain tracks, sliding panels and more. I did most of the install by my self, but was assisted in the construction. Below are final photos and process shots.

Prop Carpentry with Barrington Stage
While at the Barrington Stage Company, I've had the opportunity to lead team builds of furniture props, devise building strategies and duplicate existing furniture. These activities combined all of my past and present skills of problem solving, team leading, carpentry and detail work. Below are all images from the "Fiddler on the Roof" build of the tables, stanchions and benches.
